The 2020 Diamondback Release 4C brought carbon construction to the brand’s popular trail platform, offering a well-rounded ride that balanced climbing efficiency with downhill capability. Built around 130mm of rear travel using Diamondback’s Level Link suspension system—similar in feel to a VPP layout—it paired well with a 150mm Fox 34 Performance fork up front. The geometry hit a sweet spot for trail riders, with a 66° head angle and roomy cockpit that kept things stable at speed without feeling sluggish in tighter terrain. Outfitted with a SRAM GX, Eagle 12-speed drivetrain, 4-piston brakes, and wide 27.5” wheels, the 4C delivered solid performance for riders who wanted a do-it-all trail bike with a slightly more playful, poppy ride than many 29er counterparts.
