Moots Psychlo X YBB Cyclocross Bike - 2011, 59cm

Moots Psychlo X YBB Cyclocross Bike - 2011, 59cm

The 2011 Moots Psychlo X YBB blended classic cyclocross versatility with the subtle compliance of Moots’ signature YBB soft-tail design. Hand-built from US-sourced titanium in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, the frame offered exceptional durability, lightweight performance, and that unmistakably smooth titanium ride feel. The YBB (Why Be Beat) rear micro-suspension used an elastomer and pivot-less design to take the edge off rough terrain, making it especially suited for long mixed-surface races, gravel epics, and off-the-grid adventures before gravel bikes became a category of their own. With rim brake mounts and traditional CX geometry—steep angles, high bottom bracket, and short chainstays—the Psychlo X YBB was rooted in classic cyclocross design but hinted at the genre’s future evolution. It was a bike for riders who valued craftsmanship, subtle comfort, and timeless performance.
